Enterprise Architect specializing in designing, securing, and scaling the infrastructure that keeps multi-site manufacturing operations running. Over 14 years at Rea Magnet Wire, I've grown from frontline support into the senior technical authority for enterprise infrastructure across 6 sites in the US and Mexico, architecting and operating the virtualization, storage, networking, security, and disaster-recovery systems that roughly 800 users depend on every day.
I also bring 7 years of formal team lead and management experience, leading a mixed IT team of 3 full-time staff and 3 part-time team members across Helpdesk, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity responsibilities. That work has included day-to-day prioritization, mentorship, escalation management, incident coordination, and aligning technical execution with business needs.
My work centers on hands-on architecture and engineering, not just oversight. Recent highlights include:
- Led recovery from a 2023 ransomware incident, restoring critical operations within 72 hours and achieving full environment recovery within 5 days. Used the event to harden backup isolation and DR runbooks against repeat exposure.
- Designed the enterprise backup and DR strategy on Veeam, achieving a 1-hour RTO across all sites and validating recoverability through monthly restore tests.
- Led a datacenter consolidation, migrating core services including Panorama, file transfer, access control, and monitoring while standardizing the environment to reduce operational costs.
- Standardized network and security architecture across 6 sites using Palo Alto and Aruba, strengthening segmentation between IT and manufacturing/OT environments.
- Drove the security platform consolidation onto CrowdStrike.
My toolkit spans VMware vSphere/ESXi, HPE MSA storage, Veeam, Palo Alto/Panorama, Aruba, CrowdStrike, Microsoft 365 E5, Windows/ConfigMgr, and Linux, backed by active development in C#/WPF and Python — and a foundation that goes back to early PHP web work — that lets me automate and build rather than just configure.
I hold the CCSP, SSCP, and VMCE, along with a deep CompTIA stack including PenTest+, CySA+, Security+, and Network+, plus a BS in Cybersecurity & Information Assurance. Security is architected in from the start, not bolted on.
I do my best work where infrastructure, security, and the realities of a 24x7 manufacturing floor intersect, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and leadership to turn business needs into reliable, cost-effective technical solutions.
Rea Magnet Wire 2012 – Present
Progressed from frontline help desk to Enterprise Architect over 14 years, taking on infrastructure and security ownership ahead of title at each step. Led modernization of a six-site manufacturing IT environment spanning roughly 1,000 systems and 800+ users, including data center consolidation, security platform integration, enterprise automation, and recovery from a major ransomware incident.
-
Enterprise Architect (March 2026 – Present)
Senior technical authority for enterprise infrastructure across six US and Mexico sites, roughly 1,000 systems and 800+ users, owning architecture and strategic direction for virtualization, storage, networking, security, and disaster recovery.
- Setting long-term virtualization strategy, including a planned migration off VMware to Proxmox to control licensing cost and avoid vendor lock-in.
- Established IT document governance and policy architecture, defining policy, procedure, and runbook standards backed by a structured knowledge base.
- Leading AI adoption for executive leadership, defining approved tooling and usage standards across the company.
- Building internal automation and open-source infrastructure tooling that lets the team build and integrate rather than just configure.
-
Lead Infrastructure Engineer (March 2024 – March 2026)
Owned architecture and operations for network, server, virtualization, security, and disaster recovery across all Rea facilities, scaling the environment from roughly 600 to 800+ users through a period of rapid company growth.
- Led the Lafayette data center modernization, replacing all four VMware hosts with Gen 11 hardware on vSphere 8 for a 33% performance improvement, with Entra ID integration for full MFA.
- Executed the Lisle-to-Lafayette data center consolidation, migrating 31 VMs during a shutdown window with no production impact, and positioned Lafayette as the primary data center and DR site.
- Integrated Palo Alto firewalls with CrowdStrike NextGen SIEM, centralizing visibility into 3M+ daily security events across all sites and enabling firewall-to-endpoint correlation for threat detection.
- Replaced legacy Nimble storage with HPE MSA 2060 and deployed FS S5850C top-of-rack switches with MLAG, building NIC, media, and switch redundancy into the core.
- Built enterprise automation, including a Microsoft Graph-based user offboarding system with NIST-compliant credential handling, automated MFA removal, and Intune device retirement, plus PowerShell storage health monitoring feeding PRTG.
- Stood up internal containerized services, including a Docker host, a TLS 1.3 mail relay, and internal web hosting, to absorb services during the Lisle data center closure.
- Planned vEdge SD-WAN hardware replacement and validated Palo Alto backup network paths for WAN contingency.
- Onboarded a Network Engineer and mentored the security analyst into CrowdStrike administration and incident response.
-
Service Desk Supervisor (September 2019 – March 2024)
Led the service desk and multi-site support while taking on infrastructure and security ownership well beyond the role, most visibly during a major 2023 security incident.
- Led recovery from a 2023 ransomware incident, restoring critical operations within 72 hours and reaching full recovery in 5 days, restoring roughly 105 servers and 5.4 TB across 5 million files from backup while rebuilding 10 to 15 servers from scratch and relocating inbound services to more resilient infrastructure.
- Hardened the environment against repeat exposure, deploying CrowdStrike Falcon fleet-wide, new firewalls at every location, MFA on VPN access, and internal CA and PKI infrastructure.
- Rebuilt backup and disaster recovery on Veeam with full backup immutability by policy and PRTG monitoring of backup state, the foundation that made the recovery possible.
- Directed three service desk technicians supporting 24x7 manufacturing across all sites, personally resolving 1,277 tickets in 2023 with the team clearing 2,414, averaging under 24-hour resolution through a 50% increase in volume.
- Ran the IT internship program as a talent pipeline, moving three interns into full-time roles, and mentored a team member into systems and network administration.
-
Senior Support Administrator (September 2017 – September 2019)
Served as the senior escalation point for endpoint support across all Rea facilities, resolving the complex issues other support tiers could not.
- Acted as the escalation point for the most complex endpoint and system issues company-wide.
- Expanded SCCM-based software deployment and patch management across multiple sites.
- Developed automation scripts to reduce repetitive administrative work.
